Kentuky’s sire is called Calvaro (Holstein performance family 8813), a son of well-known Holstein progenitor Caletto I out of Rixa, a daughter of the famous Capitol I. Partnered with Jos Lansink, Calvaro won the 1997 national showjumping championship in the Netherlands. Calvaro was a brilliant performer on the international showjumping circuit. He participated at the Olympic Games (Sydney, 2000), the European Championships (Mannheim (1997) and Hickstead (1999)), the World Equestrian Games (Rome, 1998), as well as a World Cup final (Göteborg, 1999). Calvaro collected many victories and honourable placings during the most challenging international tournaments (such as Aachen, Calgary and London). Many descendants of Calvaro have followed or are following in his hoof prints, such as Phirst du Chai, Calavda Z, Boyfriend du Seigneur, Cabriolet Z, Callas Sitte Z, Stardust Quinhon and Katchina Mail.Kentuky has best performance blood via her sire as well as her dam, Frivole van de Padenborre, born out of the combination of the Olympic stallion Chin Chin with Jessica V/D Padenborre. Jessica’s dam, Draisienne, is the foundation dam of BWP’s outstanding performance line 21, which has produced several approved stallions: Bengale, Ulhan du Temple, the full brothers Equistro and Free Style, and the full brothers Ho-Go van de Padenborre and Iron Man van de Padenborre. Partnered with Irishman Denis Lynch, the seven-year-old Ho-Go van de Padenborre is performing at international 1m45 level. In May 2014 this duet ranked ninth in the five-star tournament in La Baule.
To performance line 21 belong approved stallions as well as extraordinary showjumpers. Some examples: Pin Chin (a full sister of Kentuky’s dam) gave birth to the international performers Up and Down van de Padenborre (team gold during the WEG in Aachen (2006) and the European Championship in Mannheim (2007), partnered with Jeroen Dubbeldam) and Socrates van de Padenborre (ridden by Edwina Tops-Alexander, Socrates has collected many victories and honourable placings in World Cup classes, GCT competitions and five-star tournaments). In combination with Ohio van de Padenborre, Jessica van de Padenborre produced the phenomenal Toronto van de Padenborre. Partnered with Juan Carlos Garcia, Toronto performed for many years in international five-star tournaments.
