Holly Hunter’s sire is Heartbreaker, a son of Nimmerdor who jumped at the highest international level under the saddle of Peter Geerink. Heartbreaker enjoys a great reputation as a supplier of marvellous showjumpers. Several descendants of Heartbreaker are mentioned at the top of the most recent WBFSH ranking for the best showjumpers worldwide: Ensor van de Bucxtale (sporting name Primeval Déjàvu, Gert-Jan Bruggink), VDL Groep Zidane (Leopold van Asten), Sidoline van de Centaur (Eric Lamaze and nowadays Abdul Rahman Mohammed M A Al Marri), Ultimo (Hamad Ali Mohamed A Al Attiyah), and Heidi du Ruisseau Z (Samuel Hutton).

Holly Hunter’s dam, Kharmeta, belongs to Dutch dam line 034 (the performance line of Balia). Several outstanding international showjumpers belong to this family, such as Ikaros, Pan-Am, Enorm, Hamlet, Pybalia and First Choice. Holly Hunter’s full sister, Tuut Tuut, produced two approved stallions (the full brothers Consul de la Vie Z and Cantor de la Vie Z) and several successful showjumpers, such as Consul de la Vie Z (Tony Cadet, 1m50 to 1m55 level) and Antigone de la Vie who performs in the United States from 1m40 to 1m45 level under the saddle of Candice King.
