Caselle-K van ’t Kattenheye’s sire is none other than Casall. With rider Rolf-Göran Bengtsson Casall performs at the highest level including Olympic Games, World Equestrian Games, GCT games, World Cup tests, GPs at five start level and country competitions.
Casall has furthermore produced an impressive list of top jumping horses including Powerplay (Eric Lamaze), Cristallo A LM (Julien Epaillard), Casallo Z (Piergiorgio Bucci), Croesus (Beat Mändli, Jessica Kürten, Hans-Dieter Dreher and Pia Reich) and Casello (Douglas Lindelöw and since this year Ludger Beerbaum). Casall therefore is an undisputed part of the top 10 of the WBFSH-ranking of the wordl’s best jumping horses producers.. The performance blood was passed on to him by both his sire Caretino as his dam Kira XVII, a Lavall I-daughter from Maltia. Kira XVII did not only bring forth Casall, but also breeding stallion Clarence C. Paired with Lord Maltia gave birth to Taura in 1981. This mare produced approved breeding Ringo Starr, Cesano I and Cesano II, as well as international jumping horses Crocodile Dandy (Alison Firestone) and Conally (Markus Renzel). Through daugthers Winja and Chamonix Maltia is the grandmother of international jumping performers Capone I and Corinessa.
Interesting breeding background also on the dam’s side for Caselle-K van ’t Kattenheye. Mother Unita NA, is a granddaughter to great sire Quidam de Revel. Caselle-K’s great-grandmother is Akelei, daugther to Ahorn Z, anAlme-son from Heureka Z, one of Zangersheide’s foundation mares . Ahorn Z is a full brother of Argentina Z the mother of Ratina Z (otherwise known as the ‘20st century jumping horse’).
Rusalka, Akelei’s mother, has produced, with 2 different fathers, two approved stallions, being Corde Star (v. Cor de la Bryère) and Charle-Vitz (v. Carpaccio). Rodrigo, a full brother to Rusalka, was approved as a breeding stallion.
Through the motherline, Caselle-K van ’t Kattenheye is part of the Holstein breeding branch 5401, where we also find back a.o.. Fernando (German inspection champion and approved in BWH a few years later), international jumper Changing Winds and stallion New Quidam I and II.
