Concern combines two BWP performance lines in her pedigree: via her sire, Premium de Laubry, breeding family 22 (foundation dam Dunkelheit) and via her dam, Tosca, breeding family 10 (foundation dam Jekie). Partnered with Johan Philippaerts, the 1992-born Premium de Laubry has rewritten history in the international showjumping world. Highlights of their partnership include winning the Grand Prix in Barcelona and Aarhus (2000), victory in a 1m50 class in Ascona, second place in the Lisbon Nations’ Cup and third place in the Helsinki Grand Prix. In 2001 Premium and Johan wrote the sequel to their success story, for instance in Lisbon, Madrid, Compiègne and Eindhoven, but in that same year, Premium sadly passed away following an attack of colic.Concern has inherited the showjumping blood of the legendary Darco via her dam, Tosca, whose great-grandmother is the famous Oekie. Did you know that Oekie was represented by two descendants during the Olympic Games in Barcelona? We are talking about Britt (partnered with Karin Donckers in eventing) and Winston (ridden by Ian Millar in showjumping). Winston (sporting name Big Ben) is one of world’s greatest showjumpers, participating in three Olympic Games, as well as six World Cup finals (claiming victory in Göteborg and Tampa). Winston’s full sister Vaycondions (sporting name Optiebeurs Concern) was an outstanding international showjumper under the saddle of Albert Voorn. Nowadays the performance blood of Oekie is still popular: Candy, the 2013 Calgary Grand Prix winner with Pieter Devos, is causing a furore in the international showjumping world. Candy’s dam is born out of Oekie.
